Getting Started

Q: How do I create an account?

A: Download Globerot from the App Store and sign up using your phone number. We'll send you a verification code via SMS.

Q: How do I add friends?

A: Go to your Profile → Friends → Find Friends. You can search by phone number or sync your contacts to find friends already using Globerot.

Q: How does calendar sync work?

A: When you grant calendar access, Globerot automatically detects flights and hotels in your calendar events and converts them into trips. You control which trips to share with friends.

Privacy & Sharing

Q: Who can see my trips?

A: Only friends you've added on Globerot can see trips you share. Each trip has a sharing level (All Friends, Close Friends, or Private) that you control.

Q: Can I pause sharing temporarily?

A: Yes! Go to Profile → Pause Sharing. This hides all your trips from friends until you resume.

Q: How do I delete my account?

A: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete All My Data. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data.

Troubleshooting

Q: My trips aren't showing up

A: Make sure:

  • Calendar access is granted (Profile → Calendar Access)
  • Your calendar events have flight confirmations or hotel bookings
  • You've refreshed by pulling down on the My Trips screen
Q: I can't see my friends' trips

A: Make sure:

  • You've added them as friends (not just sent a request)
  • They've shared trips with "All Friends" or "Close Friends"
  • Their sharing isn't paused
Q: The app crashes or won't load

A: Try these steps:

  1. Force quit and restart the app
  2. Check for app updates in the App Store
  3. Restart your device
  4. Contact support if the issue persists

Features

Q: What's the difference between All Friends and Close Friends?

A: "All Friends" shares the trip with everyone you're connected with. "Close Friends" shares only with friends you've marked as close (coming soon).

Q: Can I manually add trips?

A: Yes! Tap the + button in My Trips to add a trip manually, even if it's not in your calendar.

Q: How do groups work?

A: Groups let you plan trips with specific friends. Create a group, invite friends, and coordinate your travel together (full feature coming soon).
